The french hill junction is a main junction in the city of Jerusalem and its surroundings. This project includes a first set of twin tunnels along road No. 1, and second set of twin tunnels connecting road No. 1 to road no. 60. The alignment of the tunnels cross limestone and chalk lithology and arteficail fill areas.
Above the tunnels there are many infrastructures and LRT that requirs attention in the design stages. A full geotechnical investigation has been carried out, including 3 stages: prelimanery survey and comprehensive complementary survey that include boreholes, geophysical tests and drawing maps and cross sections. At the final stage a detailed report had been submitted including, dirsribution of geoengineering units, rock mass clasification according to Q, RMR and GSI systems.
